Secure IMAP

If you do not want to use Outlook or Outlook Web Access and instead use an IMAP client to send and receive email, then you can use the following settings.  However, please note that IMAP does not support all Exchange features and functionality.

1

You must first make certain to have created a Mailbox.  Please note that it may take 10-15 minutes for a new mailbox to become active, so please wait before moving to Step 2.

2

Launch e-mail client.

3

Locate the e-mail client's Settings (or New Account) option.

4

Enter the following settings:

Account Type: IMAP

Incoming mail server: imap2.exchangecentral.netimap10.exchangecentral.net

Outgoing mail server: smtp2.exchangecentral.netsmtp10.exchangecentral.net

User name: user@domain.com

Password: <user defined>

5

If there's a setting to require SMTP (Outgoing0 Authentication), then enable it.

6

Locate additional or advanced settings.

7

Enter the following settings:

Incoming server (IMAP): 993

Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL

Outgoing server (SMTP): 587

Use the following type of encrypted connection: TLS

8

Save and close settings.

Also keep in mind that you can download a free copy of Outlook with each Exchange mailbox.
