1&1 Instructions


If the domain name you wish to use is currently with 1&1, then you have two options:
 

If you prefer to continue to manage the domain name using Network Solutions and still use our services, then go to 1&1 and update its nameservers.
If you prefer to manage it all in SiteControl alongside the other services you're already using, then transfer the domain name registration from 1&1 to us.

 

 

Keep The Domain Name Registration At 1&1:

Log in to 1&1's control panel at admin.1and1.com.

Enter your 1&1 Customer ID and password.

Under Basic Settings, click Domains.

On the Domain Overview page, check the box next to the appropriate domain.

Click the drop-down menu arrow next to DNS and select Edit DNS Settings.

Under Basic DNS Settings, change the Name server setting to "My name server".

Replace the existing Primary name server and 1st Secondary name server with our two nameservers.  (Make sure Secondary name server is set to "My secondary name server".

Click OK.

Please allow 4-8 hours for the update to take effect.

Transfer The Domain Name Registration From 1&1 To Us:

Please note that a domain name registration must be at least six months old before you can transfer it from one provider to another.

Log in to 1&1's control panel at admin.1and1.com.

Enter your 1&1 Customer ID and password.

Under Basic Settings, click Domains.

On the Domain Overview page, check the box next to the appropriate domain.

Click the drop-down menu arrow next to Transfers and select Lock/Unlock.

Return to the Domain Overview page and check the box next to the same domain.

Click Info.

Locate the Auth Code at the bottom and copy it for later use.

Please wait 12-24 hours, and then you can initiate the transfer on our side.

Please allow approximately 5-8 days for the full transfer process to complete.
