Step 4: Create an Email Address

One of the primary benefits of owning a domain name is the ability to create e-mail addresses using that domain name.  For example, if your domain name is mywebsite.com, you could create an e-mail address such as me@mywebsite.com.

Please note that Propagation must be completed before e-mail can be fully functional.  In the meanwhile, please create e-mail accounts so that they'll be ready to be used.

To create a new e-mail account:

1

Log in to SiteControl and click Email, near the bottom of the home page.

2

When you setup POP e-mail for the first time, click Activate Email.  Once activated, you will never see this link again.

Next, using the dropdown menu, select the plan for which you wish to activate e-mail.

Finally, select the radio button next to Advanced Mail (MFG), and click Activate.

You should then see the confirmation message.  Please allow up to a few minutes for the activation to complete.  In the meanwhile, click Back to Overview.

Upon completion, you should see the SiteMail link in the Email Overview page.

To start managing your e-mail account(s), click SiteMail.

3

Click Setup & Manage Email, followed by Create Email Address.

NOTE: The number of Mailboxes Included depends on the plan you ordered.

4

In the Create Email Address section, enter the name of the new Email address. Ex. janedoe

5

Click the radio button next to Yes and enter a Password.

6

Click Create Email Address.

You can choose to activate forwarding and auto-responders here. However, they are only optional.

7

A confirmation message appears.  Generally, e-mail accounts can be created in a matter of minutes.  On rare occasions, it can take up to 24 hours.

Click Back to Overview.

8

A new email address appears in the Email Address section of the Email overview page.

If it does not appear immediately, then click Refresh List.
