Configuring Outlook 2003


 

To configure Outlook 2003:

Go to the menu bar at the top of the screen and choose Tools > E-mail Accounts.

In the E-mail Accounts window, click the radio button next to Add a new e-mail account.

Click Next.

Choose POP3 as your server type in the Server Type window.
 


 

Or if you prefer to use IMAP, then select IMAP (ALL settings below are exactly alike for both POP and IMAP).

Click Next.

In the Internet E-mail Settings window, type your name in the Your Name field.

Type your email address in the E-mail Address field.

In the Logon Information section, type the first part of your email address before the  @ in the User Name field.

In the Logon Information section, type your password in the Password field.

Enter the name of the incoming server (pop.domainname.com) in the Incoming mail server field.

Enter the name of the outgoing server (smtp.domainname.com) in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text field.

Click More Settings.

Select the Outgoing Server tab from the Internet E-mail Settings window.

Check the box next to My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication.

Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Click OK.

Click Next in the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window.

Click Finish on the E-mail Accounts window.
